Giclée
The art term giclée is used to describe the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing. The term was originally applied to fine art prints created on Iris printers in the early 1990's but has since been used to describe art prints created on any high quality ink-jet printer. As an art term, giclée has come to be associated with prints using fade resistant inks and the printers that use them. Artists use giclée printing to make limited edition high quality reproductions of their original artworks.
