Although no formal training in art, my appreciation was nurtured and encouraged from an early age. I’ve been drawn to watercolours naturally... . "Watercolour painting is notoriously difficult," said Walter J. Phillips, but an exciting medium to work with. I feel it can be unpredictable yet spontaneous, it can also be coaxed and manipulated, but I believe true beauty of the medium lies in it’s exciting unexpected magic. I admire the transparent freshness that it produces, and the pleasure I feel when I achieve light and atmosphere without it being overworked. I believe watercolours represent my soul.I find inspiration in the beauty of nature, and rich colours and tapestry of textures around us.
