I work mostly in oils, and love sculpting. My trademark is variety. I paint subjects ranging from realistic landscapes, still lives, seascapes and portraits to dreamscapes and imaginary scenes. Portraits are done in oils, pastels, pencil or charcoal, from life or from photographs; wildlife from photographs in conjunction with fellow-artist and photographer Jackie During. Sculpture includes ceramics, papier machi and relief works comprising ceramics, found materials, plastic, hardware and natural materials.I also enjoy the exacting task of book illustration, which I do on a free-lance basis, as well as translation, editing and proof-reading in English and Afrikaans (eg. legislation, educational comic strips, children's books).
