I paint people, landscapes and combinations, or what I call lifescapes. Any view can impact on me, whether at home in my indigenous garden, or on one of my trips through South Africa. It is often the gentler, unexpected scenes in the wild, but subtly beautiful landscape, that attract me. Incidental moments having unusual sources of light, vivid colour, and profound elements of composition, create impressions that I want to paint.
