I was born In Worcester, september 26 1968, one of twins, in the Western Cape. I studied art in school - Hugo Naude Art School, after which I studied BA social science in Stellenbosch. For seven years after that I worked as a graphic Designer in a printing shop, after which I became involved in craft. Through all this I've always painted and taught myself. I am involved in a community based job creation project for woman in Heidelberg, Western Cape. A love of creating has been with me all my life, entangled in everything I do. My art has a strong african influence. I paint what is close to the heart, love textures and colour, we live in a area with very strong light and a vast array of colours all around us, so typical of Africa, which makes it ideal for strong and vibrant paintings. Female energy seems to come through in all my work.
