Helena Hugo is currently residing in Pretoria. After obtaining a degree in Fine Arts at the University of Pretoria, majoring in painting, she has had exhibitions in Pretoria, Johannesburg as well as the two National Art Festivals - Grahamstown and Klein Karoo.
