I create by exploring and scratching the surface of life but not destroying it. In my work hardly any erasing takes place it is more of an additive process, which incorporates changes, like the process of evolution. Capturing fleeting sensations or emotions, leaving a spontaneous character. Life drawing sessions with a model that is where it all starts for me! Observing the human form, giving it energy and – a contact zone. The incredible variety relevant to life in South Africa is what excites me.
