Peter Lamb was born in Boksburg, South Africa 1905 - 1963

Art Education
- Wits Technicon Art School under Austin Winter Moore; privately under Alfred Palmer.

Short Artist Biography
- Peter Lamb received early instruction in art from his mother, who subsequently opposed his decision to become an artist.
- 1927 : Peter Lamb despite discouragement, began a fulltime painting career.
- 1940 – 1944 : served in the UDF.
- 1944 : following his first exhibition Peter Lamb began to build a reputation as a portraitist. Worked for some time in Durban, painted street and market scenes portraying the Indian community; married the writer and broadcaster, Doreen Lamb.
- 1957 : they departed for the United States of America; lived there for one year, then moved to England; he painted portraits of numerous notable personalities.
- 1962 : Peter Lamb returned to South Africa and settled in Johannesburg. He died suddenly one year later.

Art Exhibitions
- 1944 : first one-man exhibition, Johannesburg, infrequently in South Africa; exhibited in London and New York.
- 1963 : Memorial Exhibition, Johannesburg.
