New Art Galleries and Bookshops in South Africa - Art news

Goodman Gallery Cape
The Goodman Gallery situated in Johannesburg, South Africa extended their reach to Cape Town by opening the new Goodman Gallery Cape designed by Jeremy Rose. Goodman Gallery owner Linda Givon invited 10 artist to participate in the opening show on the 22nd of March, 2007 called "Lift Off II". Among the South African artists were Goodman regulars Willie Bester, Norman Catherine, Kendell Geers, David Goldblatt, Robert Hodgins, William Kentridge, Sam Nhlengethwa, Zweletha Mthethwa, Penny Siopis and Sue Williamson.

Exposure Gallery
The Exposure Gallery opened in Cape Town in November 2006 at Woodstock's Old Biscuit Mill complex with an exhibition of photographs by Sean Wilson and Robin Sprong.

Biblioteq
Biblioteq is a new bookstore on Cape Town's Kloof street founded by Rotem Shachar. The store includes collectables like "Goat" and "Artists & Prostitutes" as well as local books such as "African Salad" by Stan Engelbrecht.

David Krut Publishing
David Krut Publishing in Johannesburg is opening a satellite office in Cape Town at Montebello Design Centre on Newlands Avenue. It will be run by Alastair Whitton and consist of a bookstore section and a small art gallery.
